a design for an unusual and unorthodox tap. Inspired by the simplicity the sine wave, implemented to create a playful aesthetic. Currently in dialogue with manufacturers to find a suitable production strategy
reed renewal
an investigation into the use of reed as a productive use of increasingly flooded land, and as a bio-construction material. In short, it could help to deal with two problems of our time; climate change and zero-carbon housing.
folded lamp
inspired by folding paper, a 45° fold makes a right angle, which for some reason seems counterintuitive. but it creates a nice aesthetic and a pleasing simplicity that is also reflected in the manufacture.
desk supports
an exploration of some simple folded metal furniture ideas. desk legs are a slightly overlooked design, but they have a nice simple form. perhaps by promoting their natural shape and presence they can become something more
writing
a collection of thoughts in long form. typically on the foibles and futility of construction
pen plotting

I have recently finished studying a masters in ‘Design for Manufacture’ (MArch) at the Bartlett School of Architecture within University College London. I am a keen problem solver and hope to apply my skills to find answers to some of the issues we face, both big and small. I am interested in a wide spectrum of things, and try to identify the knock-on effects of design decisions. The ideas of using reed which I propose here were uncovered in the process of writing my masters thesis. But felt the idea had great potential and deserved being taken further.

I love a creative challenge; a house, a hairbrush, a hand dryer, or anything in between. I would love the chance to get involved with anything that requires some design, so drop me a line, and let’s see what happens.
